The Best Part of Working Christmas Eve...

...is being able to walk up to your subordinates, look 'em in the eyes, and say, "Hey! Go home now! Merry Christmas!"

Y'all have a good one, you hear?

  1. That it should be so simple here. Sigh...

Merry Christmas to you and BRM though!

  2. You too. Looking forward to seeing you next week. TSA dog will be searching your luggage, but right now he is off duty, with a case of kennel couch (not serious) he is on doggie cough meds that have him thoroughly stoned.

  3. Stephen - Merry Christmas to you and yours! Glad to hear you survived the shopping!

Murph - It was neither simple nor easy - more of tri-layered managerial huddle over "how do we shut this thing down so it's not a cluster...ah, never mind, how about just so it'll restart? Is that doable?" But it was done, and we pulled off the impossible one more time, such that the customers will never know that it might have been any different.

Brigid - aw, poor TSA dog! I have far more sympathy for the homeland defender than the real TSA - should I bring any treats for him to confiscate? Edible ones, I mean; I demand he give my nighties and naughties back! And my shoes!

  4. Merry Christmas to you and Peter! I've worked many, many holidays over the years, and it's such a wonderful feeling when you're finally cut loose. :)
